@mntmn If one orders the MNT reform with the LS1028A, is the internal eDP controller used with (non-free) binary firmware for the internal display? If so, did you test, or even, can you provide, a solution for the internal display to work without such binary firmware?

@avron that is correct! so far, you're the first person to actually request such a solution. but i think it's doable. we would need to do some more R&D though.

@avron the quickest path (i think) would be SM750 mPCIe card with HDMI output, fed into our internal HDMI->eDP converter. that one has firmware in a flash chip though... not sure if that's acceptable for you

At first glance it could be but I need to think a bit more about it. This was raised on Trisquel forum, I might not be the only one interested and it may be good to know whath others think.

@avron what i have tested so far is LS1028A in Rack Reform (not a laptop, but short 1U rack case) and nvidia kepler GPU. those don't require any firmware
