TOOT Chalec

Can I remind my EUropean πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί friends to please vote for the European Parliament 6-9 June? I know you are all reasonable people & your vote would be most welcome!

Use your vote in three languages on the European Parliament building in Strasbourg.

@bert_hubert no need to rub it in :(

@bert_hubert I’m actually vice chief for a local polling station :) so will vote for sure (I can’t forget to put in my one vote :) )

@jmovs NICE!

@jmovs @bert_hubert Oh hey, we're gonna be protocol writers (at a mail vote center) ^^

@tanith @jmovs NICE, thank you!

@jmovs @bert_hubert Berlin pays election helpers quite well, lol. I mean it's below minimum wage but it's still much more than the federal minimum for election helpers. I mean mostly doing't cause we thought't might be fun n interesting but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate being paid for't.

@tanith @jmovs weird, if you don't pay people for this you only get people rich or old enough to afford to work for free. Here you get a pretty good compensation for your time. We also vote during the working week, which makes it extra important.

What are the opening times of poll stations? Can people easily come during the working week? In France, by law, no compensation is allowed but we vote only on Sundays.

@avron @bert_hubert @jmovs In person ones're open 8-18, mail ones process letters from 15-18 (tho were told should be there 14:30). After 18 both the in person ones n the mail ones start counting the ballots.

@avron @bert_hubert @jmovs The money we get's not "compensation" but "refreshment money" officially; i.e. officially it's intended for like, snacks n general expenses associated w't, rather than compensating for the work itself being done.

@avron it's from 8 until 6 I think on Sunday

@bert_hubert Already done.

@bert_hubert already voted last week.
